My path
- Wartime path: honorable service since September 11, 2001 (any length)
- One year path: 1+ year honorable service, green card, age 18+
Documents
- Serving: N-426 certified by an authorized official (not a recruiter), signed within 6 months of filing
- Separated: DD 214 or NGB 22 for ALL periods of service, showing character of service
- Green card copy (front and back), if I have one
- Court records for any arrest or citation, ever
Filing
- N-400 with the military option checked
- No fee
- Online account, or mailed to USCIS, P.O. Box 4446, Chicago, IL 60680-4446
- Cover letter if I want a specific interview office
- Fingerprints: reuse, FD-258 cards abroad, or a USCIS support center
