Browsing
No account, identity document, immigration history, or personal narrative is needed to use this website. No contact, intake, payment, or newsletter form is active on this website.
Search and filters
Typed searches run in this browser. Search words are not sent to a search service, saved or added to the address. Selected need, information-scope and barrier identifiers can travel between Find help and I am stuck in the address fragment after #. Fragments are not sent in ordinary page requests, but can remain visible in browser history and to other device users. Older topic and saved-view filters can appear before # and be received by hosting.
Copy a question
Copy this question writes only the displayed generic question to your clipboard when you select the button. DNLH does not read the clipboard. Other applications may be able to access copied text.
Sending a page
Send this to someone puts only the page name and its link into a message. Send by text and Send on WhatsApp open your own apps, and Share opens your device’s share sheet; DNLH does not see who you send it to or what you add. Copy link copies the page address when you select it. Help pages about safety, crisis and legal matters do not show these buttons.
Date helper
The DACA date helper calculates in this browser. It does not save or send the entered expiration date. Clear date removes the input and result from the page. It does not ask for names, case numbers or immigration histories.
Header videos
Header videos are silent. Phones and reduced-motion or data-saving settings show a still image until you choose Play video. Clips pause when the header moves out of view or the page is hidden. These files load from the same website; playback preferences are not stored or sent to an analytics service.
Motion effects
The footer Motion effects control turns decorative logo, entrance and interaction effects off or on. Your choice is kept in sessionStorage under dnlh-effects for this browser tab. It does not contain searches, resource choices or personal details. Reduced-motion and data-saving preferences take priority, and sensitive reading pages stay calm. Video play and pause controls are separate. If the browser cannot keep the setting, the page says so.
Saved resources
The Save button stores only resource identifiers in localStorage in this browser under dnlh-saved. We do not receive your saved list. Unsave individual resources, or clear this site’s browser storage. On a shared device, other people using the same browser may see these saved choices.
Storage problems
If browser storage is blocked or saved data cannot be read, the website shows a message. It does not claim a resource was persistently saved when storage fails.
External providers
Opening a provider, crisis-support, or source link takes you to a separate website or service with its own privacy practices. Read its information before sharing personal records.
Hosting and analytics
The website is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives requests for pages and files and may keep technical request logs under its own policies. No analytics, advertising pixels, remote fonts, or tracking scripts are included.
