Questions and papers for my legal screening
Bring copies of
- My passport or birth certificate
- Every DACA approval notice and work permit I have had
- Any visa, I-94 record, or paper from when I first came in
- Any advance parole document, with my travel dates and the stamp from my return
- Any court or police records, even if the case was dropped or sealed
- Any other immigration forms I or a family member filed for me
- Proof of my U.S. citizen or green card holder family members (birth or marriage certificates, their passport or green card)
Write down
- The date I first came to the U.S. and how (with a visa, or without inspection)
- Every time I left the U.S. and came back, with dates
- My birthday, and when I turned 18
- When I first got DACA, and any time it lapsed
Questions to ask
- Do I qualify for any route to a green card now, or later?
- Would I apply from inside the U.S., or would I have to leave for an interview?
- Could any bar apply to me? Would an I-601A waiver help?
- Is it safe for me to travel on advance parole after August 2026?
- Are you a lawyer or a DOJ accredited representative? What will this cost?
- What should I not do while I wait?
Do not sign any form or pay anyone who promises a green card. Keep this sheet private.
