Which worksheet?
- Dependent (I send my info and my parents')
- Independent (I send mine, and my spouse's if married)
For each person who filed taxes (me, parent 1, parent 2)
- IRS tax return transcript (not account transcript), or
- Signed copy of the return with all schedules, if my college accepts it
For each person who did not file
- Non filer box checked
- Each employer or income source listed with amounts, including cash
- W-2s attached, or a signed, dated statement why not
- IRS non filing letter, only if my college asks
Before I turn it in
- Every page has my student ID, if the college asks
- All signatures are handwritten if digital ones are not accepted
- I made copies and kept the originals
- I checked my portal a week later for new To Do items
