I am writing about the rule that workers must speak only English at work. I was told about it on (date) by (name).
Please give me the rule in writing. Please tell me the business reason for it, and exactly when and where it applies. I understand that California law does not allow language rules on breaks or lunch, and allows them at other times only when the business truly needs them and workers are told when they apply.
I would like to keep working well with everyone. Please answer by (date).
Name: __________
Talk to a clinic before you send this if you are worried about how your employer will react. Do not write your immigration status in this letter.
