Marriage evidence checklist
- Civil marriage certificate (and translation if needed)
- Proof earlier marriages ended, for both of us
- Sponsor's proof of citizenship or green card
- Shared lease or mortgage, utility bills, mail to the same address
- Joint bank account, insurance or beneficiary forms naming each other
- Photos over time, with dates and places
- Messages, call logs or travel records (a sample, not everything)
- Sworn statements from 2 to 4 people who know us as a couple
- Our written explanation of any gaps (not out to family, lived apart for safety)
- Proof of any name or sex marker changes
