Before release
- Copy of any ICE hold, notification or transfer request
- Person named me or their lawyer as the designated person
- Immigration lawyer contacted
- Release date and place known (not posted online)
- Ride home arranged
Papers to gather (copies with me, originals safe)
- Green card, work permit, DACA approval or passport
- Any immigration court papers or notice to appear
- Court case numbers and sentencing papers
- Probation or parole terms
If ICE comes
- Lawyer's phone number
- Rapid response number for our county
- Notes: time, place, names, badge numbers
After coming home
- Lawyer reviewed the case before any USCIS filing or travel
- All court, probation and ICE dates on a calendar
- ID, food, health care and work plans started
