Money you already earned
- I got my final paycheck, with vacation pay, on time
- If not, I wrote down dates, hours and pay owed
- I called the Labor Commissioner (833-526-4636) or a clinic
Food
- I applied for CalFresh for my citizen children
- I called WIC if someone is pregnant or under 5 (1-800-852-5770)
- I found a food pantry near me (1-800-984-3663)
Cash and bills
- I asked about CalWORKs for my children
- I called or texted 211 (Bay Area) about rent and utility help
- If PG&E is my utility, I applied for CARE (1-866-743-5832)
Health
- I checked that my children's Medi-Cal is active
- I asked about Medi-Cal for anyone pregnant
- I asked about county health programs for adults
Before I sign up for anything
- Is anyone in my home in a green card case now or soon? If yes, I talked to a legal helper first
- I did not pay anyone to file for me
