What to say at the door

- "Who are you, and what agency are you with?"
- "Please slide any warrant under the door." Check: is it signed by a judge, and does it name a court?
- If it is not signed by a judge: "We do not consent to you entering."
- "We choose to remain silent. Please contact our lawyer." Lawyer's name and phone: ______________
- If they come in anyway: "I do not consent to this search." Do not resist.
- Do not sign anything.
After they leave
- Write down date, time, names, badge numbers, cars and what was said
- Call the child's lawyer, or (203) 666-4472 (San Mateo County) or (408) 290-1144 (Santa Clara County)
- Check the child's next court date: 1-800-898-7180
