Front office steps
- Stay calm. Say: "Please wait here. I am calling the principal."
- Call the principal or district office.
- Ask for name, badge number and a supervisor's phone number.
- Ask why they are here.
- Ask for any papers. Make a copy.
- Look for a judge's signature. An ICE form (I-200, I-205) is not a judge's warrant.
- Do not consent to entry of classrooms or offices. Do not block anyone.
- If they say it is an emergency, comply and call the superintendent.
- Write notes right away. Give them to district counsel.
- Email BCJ@doj.ca.gov. Call the parent.
